Do you love your Job? Only 20% of Americans do

love-my-jobOnly 20% of americans “Love” their jobs. Are you part of the 20% or 80%?

This is a problem because when we love what we do we reap far more personal satisfaction from our career and invest more of ourselves. One researcher, Dr. Mark Herbst says when we “fall in love” with what we do for a living it brings us joy and purpose.

Dr. Herbst also did a study where he had volunteers who were deeply in love view pictures of their loved ones. Just the sight of the photograph would deactivate the amygdala [uh-mig-duh-luh], which is the brains fear center. When this occurs you are calm and focused, it’s “relaxed happiness,” the opposite of fear.(1)  By the way, according to 1 John 4:18, “Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love drives out fear.” Isn’t it amazing that when we encounter God’s love within our brains the emotion of fear is cast out!

Fear & Anxiety are great distractions in the workplace and are major factors to the reason that 80% of americans do not love what they do?

So what’s something practical that we can all do today? How about loving and encouraging one another in the workplace?

“When the environment at work is one of encouragement, and one that meets the basic human needs to live, to learn, to feel valued and significant, we do more than just survive — we thrive.” – Simon Sinek, Leaders Eat Last

So encourage each other and give each other strength, just as you are doing now.

Now, brothers and sisters, we ask you to appreciate those who work hard among you, who lead you in the Lord and teach you.Respect them with a very special love because of the work they do.

Live in peace with each other. We ask you, brothers and sisters, to warn those who do not work. Encourage the people who are afraid (FEAR). Help those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people.

Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:11-18

Country Gospel – The Perfect Music Genre

A NEW SEASON Final_hires_jpeg
Country Gospel is the perfect music genre. Today Matthew Hagee released his new album “A New Season.” I just downloaded it from iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-new-season/id837059430 and here is my review of the album:

I follow Canton Junction, the quartet Matthew Hagee is a part of and looked forward to this solo album. I love country, I love gospel and I love this album. “I Don’t Want To Get Adjusted” & “This Ain’t Nothin’” are bound to get stuck in your head, but most of all the lyrics are worth singing.

No matter what you’re going through, God is a God of new beginnings. Every song on this album glorifies our Savior Jesus Christ who offers us all “A New Season”. I pray this album reaches many with its encouraging message of hope.
